The Shop
Woolston has its chippie back. New owners, generous portions, and a batter people keep describing the same way: super crisp.
It’s a small shop at 61 Hopkins Street with the fryers going every night from four. Fish, chips, burgers, hotdogs and fritters, cooked when you order them, not before. Blue cod, snapper or groper turn up when the catch is good. Ask what’s in.
Lunch runs Thursday to Saturday from 10:30. Dinner is seven nights, till eight. Free street parking out front.
